NCPO’s Chief issued the Order Number 46/2017 to establish the Office of the National Water Resources as one of the central organizations from three main pillars under the equivalent to a government and required to directly report to the Prime Minister.
November 22nd, 2017
NCPO’s Chief issued the Order Number 52/2017 to appoint Mr. Somkiat Prajamwong as a Director to the Office of the National Water Resources. At the same time the appliances, equipment and personnel were equipped and prepared.
November 28th, 2017
The Office of the National Water Resources borrowed 8 officials from the Department of Water Resources and 13 officials from the Department of Royal Irrigation. The agency’s structure was approved as a framework consisting of six units (offices/divisions/center) including the Secretariat of Office of the National Water Resources, Policy and Strategy Division, Budget and Project Analysis Division, River Basin Management Division, the National Water Command Center and the Secretariat of the National Water Resources Committee.
January 22nd, 2018
NCPO’s Chief issued the Order Number 2/2018 to rename the agency to the Office of National Water Resources (ONWR) and appoint Mr. Samroeng Sangphuwong as Deputy Secretary-General.
January 31st, 2018
Order Number 1/2018 of Office of the National Water Resources requested 81 officials from the Department of Water Resources and the Department of Royal Irrigation to work temporarily with the agency for 180 days.
February 16th, 2018
The Ministerial Regulations on the Division of Work Units announced that ONWR is responsible for these missions: proposing policies; formulating strategic plans, master plans and measures; integrating information, plans, projects and budget; monitoring and evaluating on water resources management.
May 24th, 2018
ONWR issued an order to second 55 officials from the Department of Royal Irrigation and 26 officials from the Department of Water Resources.
June – July 2018
มี86 government officials and employees were seconded and recruited to add up the number of ONWR’s personnel. Three important and urgent issues were implemented: database, holistic water strategies and water laws. High performance and potential officials with specific expertise such as governmental scholarship students, HIPPs governmental officers, public service development executives, new waves of Thai government were assigned to co-work in those 3 areas mentioned.
